Marketing Manager

Job description


We're looking for a Marketing Manager to join our team and assist with rapid audience growth and increased awareness of the Hashtag Sports brand. The role will report to the Head of Strategy & Growth. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who is action-oriented, creative, and flexible and who wants to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

You will be responsible for driving revenue, audience development, and community engagement across our online and offline channels to support established events (Hashtag Sports 2022 + Hashtag Sports LIVE virtual series), The Engagement Academy Sports x Entertainment, fast-growing programs (Hashtag Sports Awards + Creators of Color), industry-leading newsletters, social content, and future lines of revenue.


  • Own our marketing efforts across all parts of the business

  • Build and maintain event/awards websites using content management system (CMS) to update copy, images, and lead capture forms

  • Create stunning promotional decks and email marketing campaigns

  • Support growth of Hashtag Sports social media channels by delivering attention to individuals engaging around the brand

  • Assume demand generation responsibilities, including webinar series and co-marketing partnerships

  • Lead implementation of marketing automation workflows in Hubspot CRM

  • Contribute to community outreach, awareness campaigns, and engagement efforts for conference and awards program

  • Maintain efficient and detailed time & action calendars to ensure successful program execution for sponsor marketing deliverables

  • Support editorial process and content strategy for Hashtag Sports newsletters and Engage by Hashtag Sports

  • Provide timely analytics to leadership to enable sales

  • Brainstorm event programming, content, and activation ideas with Event Director

  • Assist with strategic evolution of Hashtag Sports brand, voice, and audience

  • Engage in social media to promote your personal brand, colleagues, and Hashtag Sports

Job requirements


  • Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing

  • Ability to manage multiple workloads and meet fast-paced deadlines

  • Finger on the pulse of sports, entertainment, and pop culture

  • Proficient in Canva (Adobe Creative Suite a plus)

  • In-depth knowledge of social media trends and experience with platform management tools

  • Experience with Google Analytics and understanding of basic SEO best practices

  • Creative thinker who is extremely detailed and organized

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to drive lead generation and audience engagement

  • Flexible and can deal effectively with changes in priorities or ambiguity

  • Skills to manage event and advertising budgets

  • Experience at a b2b or b2c event organizer (a plus)

  • Comfortable with HTML (a plus)
