ABOUT THE ROLE

We're looking for a Sales Director to join our team and to lead significant revenue generation and growth for a fast-growing event organizer and digital community in an exciting industry. The role will report to the CEO of the company. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can take the reins of Hashtag Sports’ sales efforts and play a crucial role in building a next-generation event company with a purposeful mission.

You will be responsible for managing the sales pipeline and driving revenue across Hashtag Sports 2020, the Hashtag Sports Awards, Hashtag Sports LIVE virtual series, special programs and initiatives, sponsored content, and newsletters. You will also have the opportunity to identify new offerings that Hashtag Sports can execute and sell.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Successfully achieve sales and revenue targets by securing sponsorship revenue for the conference, awards, special initiatives, and digital content
  • Build a strong pipeline of sales and partnership opportunities and nurture relationships with key stakeholders
  • Develop effective sales proposals and solutions through an intimate understanding of appropriate and available event inventory
  • Generate new business by growing relationships with global brands, agencies and entertainment properties
  • Effectively manage a high volume of video conferencing, meeting, and calls to meet KPIs and grow the business
  • Ensure accurate use and maintenance of CRM system for sales activities
  • Complete regular reports including quarterly sponsorship revenue forecasts
  • Align with management to expand the sales team, when necessary
  • Establish long-term relationships with prospective customers over long sales cycles
  • Engage in social media to promote your personal brand, colleagues, and Hashtag Sports

Job requirements

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Preferably 4-7 years of experience working in a sales role that includes account management, sales planning, or similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of the events industry and/or experience at a b2b event organizer
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to sell complex, multi-faceted and profitable partnerships and programs
  • Experience with managing CRM software
  • Target driven approach and the passion to exceed quarterly revenue goals
  • Finger on the pulse of sports, media, and entertainment
  • Excellent communicator including the ability to do so with a wide range of senior client and agency contacts
  • Strong strategic and negotiation skills
  • Is flexible and can deal effectively with changes in priorities
